The CACSA, Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia, is an independent art space which aims to show the best of contemporary Australian artists’ work, focusing on South Australian practitioners. The CACSA also publishes a quarterly magazine, Broadsheet, seeking to stimulate the debate on contemporary art and culture in Australia. The centre started its activities in 1986 and was originated from the Contemporary Art Society, an association founded in 1942 by a group of South Australian rebel artists.
