Valery Ayzenberg, a Muscovite artist also based in New York, founded Escape in 1999 and was soon joined by the get viagra prescription artists Bogdan Mamonov, Lisa Morozova and discount site viagra Anton Litvin. Inspired by artist-run spaces and the Moscow tradition of ‘apartment art’, Escape was set up as a non-profit making programme underwhose auspices its four members could realise events and performances. In response to the current political climate in Russia, Escape describe their programme as ‘an underground movement during a time of political freedom’ and as ‘a private affair in the world of private economy’. The organization is interested in the phenomenon of collective creativity in today’s socio-cultural situation. Itinerant since their inception, Escape has managed to position itself as an art gallery, a construction company, a boutique and a travel agency.
