The IMA, Institute of Modern Art, is the only public, non profit organisation devoted in Queensland exclusively to contemporary art. It was founded in 1975 and changed location in 2001: now it offers four galleries, a screening room, three residential artists studios and where to order zithromax a space for performances, lectures and exhibitions. The association presents a year-round exhibition program of work by contemporary artists at various levels of their careers. Other activities are organising lectures and forums, and publishing books and catalogues, the sale of which provides additional incomes. The aim is to generate opportunities for artists and to interpret aspects of contemporary art practice.
