The Berlin Artist Association (Verein Berliner Künstler) is a self-governed and indipendent association of about 120 professional visual artists having their centre of work and life in Berlin. The VBK residence is a townhouse with gallery at Schönberger Ufer 57 in Berlin-Tiergarten, close to the Neuen Nationalgalerie and the Kulturforum at Potsdamer Platz. The VBK exhibitions show a diversity of artistic approaches in a wide spectrum of media. Furthermore the VBK engages in artistic projects in cooperation with partners and other artists associations on a national and international level. The documentary part of the VBK archive is treasured by the Akademie der Künste(Academy of Arts Berlin). New members are admitted every year. Criteria are professional work and quality, no age limit.
